Digital Wings takes off in Sri Lanka: Empowering students through technology
laptop.lk launched Digital Wings, its CSR initiative to bridge the digital divide in Sri Lanka's rural schools, with an inaugural donation of laptops, desktops and printers worth over Rs. 1 million to Parakum Maha Vidyalaya, Vavuniya. The Technocity makes Rs. 50 mn donation to cyclone relief fund
The Technocity (Pvt) Ltd pledged Rs. 50 million towards cyclone relief — Rs. 20 million in cash for rebuilding infrastructure and Rs. 30 million in technology, including 50 interactive smart board panels, laptops, printers and photocopiers for affected schools and children. Chairman and Founder Mr. Famy Ismail handed over the cheque to Hon. Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees, noting: "Moments like these remind us that humanity must lead the way, especially when infrastructure damage disrupts access to education and critical IT systems that communities rely on."
